The 9/11 Memorial Healing Field ® is a memorial to the 2,977 individuals that died as a result of the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks. The Exchange Club of Tempe is the host of the 9/11 Memorial Healing Field ®, but the Exchange Club of Chandler volunteers to help stand up the field, staff the Information and Water Booth, help visitors find the flags of the victims, and stand down the field.
The field is raised every year a day or two before September 11th and is taken down a day or two after September 11th. Check our calendar or the Tempe Healing Field ® website (https://tempehealingfield.org) to find the stand up, ceremony, and stand down dates.
All aspects of the 9/11 Memorial Healing Field ® from stand up, the entire time the memorial stands, the ceremonies, to stand down are open to everyone. Standing up and taking down nearly 3,000 flags is a lot of work, please consider being a “Friend of Exchange” and volunteering to help stand up the field, staffing the Information and Water booth, or stand down the field.
